MY PAGEANT JOURNEY

how did you get into pageantry?

I got into pageantry because of the confidence and communications skills one can gain from the experience. My friend competed in pageants for a long time and I saw her posts on Facebook and was inspired to try it. She started coaching other girls on pageants, and I asked her to coach me; she taught me the basics - how to walk, stand, interview, speak, what to do with my hands, how to wave, facial expressions, everything. You’d be surprised at how much goes into it!

what do you like most about competing in pageants?

I really like the glam, but mostly I like that it boosts my confidence. I was really shy when I was younger and pageants have really helped me feel and speak more confidently. I’m already practicing my interview skills! But what I really get inspired by is the community service opportunities and the connection to helping others.

HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE COMPETING TOGETHER WITH YOUR MOM?

I represented Greece in the Teen Division for International Pageants in 2024 alongside my mom (she was in the Mrs. Division). Greece is her ancestral country; she is first generation Greek-American and I’m very close with my mom’s family. It was amazing competing, but especially traveling to Greece, learning more about my culture and heritage and made lifelong memories!

what are you most excited about for the future?

Every pageant system I compete in is setting me up to improve my social skills and boost my confidence. I grow and learn something new about myself every time I compete. I’m excited to see which pageant systems will speak to me going forward - I’m very competitive by nature (I love sports) and I intend on staying in the game!
